Balinese Legong Dancers
Balinese dancers
originate from the beautiful island of
Indonesia, located in South East Asia.
The dance of Legong tells a story. It is a most
womanly dance and is danced by females before
they reach their teenage years. Dancers are
dressed in beautiful costumes, bodies wrapped
tightly from chest to hips with many metres of
cloth and beautifully decorated with gold
trimmings.
Our young girls express themselves through the
use of the cloth with their freedom of
expression flowing within. Dancing to the
strains of gamelan music, they parade through
the streets in all their splendour.
